Dr. Rupinder Sekhon

Dr. Rupinder Sekhon, a leading gynaecologic oncologist in India, specializes in ovarian cancer, cytoreductive surgery, and HIPEC for recurrent ovarian cancer.
Dr. Sekhon played a pivotal role in developing the department of gynae oncology at Artemis Hospitals, making it a state-of-the-art facility in India.
Her expertise spans colposcopy, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, open, and robotic gynaecologic surgeries.
Certified as a Robotic Console Surgeon since 2011, she has performed numerous robotic surgeries for various gynae cancers.
Dr. Sekhon served in the Indian Air Force as a Classified Specialist Obs & Gynae for over 16 years.
She currently holds the position of President at AOGIN – India (Asia-Oceania Research Organisation in Genital Infection and Neoplasia) and is an ELECT AGOI (Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India).
Her qualifications include MD from PGIMER, Chandigarh, DGO from Govt. Medical College, Amritsar, Punjab, MBBS from Govt. Medical College, Amritsar, Punjab, Diploma in Advanced Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy (Germany), Certified Robotic Gynae Surgeon (USA), and FICOG (Fellow of Indian Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynecologists).
Dr. Sekhon’s expertise covers HIPEC, PIPEC, HITHOC, secondary cytoreductive surgery in ovarian cancer, recurrences in cancer endometrium, radical vulvectomy with inguinal lymph node dissection, and other complex surgeries for vaginal & vulvar cancer.
She has received numerous awards and recognition, including being the first to be trained in Robotic surgery in Gynae Oncology at Conneticut, USA. Dr. Sekhon is the first to perform Peritonectomy and HIPEC in Ovarian cancer in North India.
She has been an invited speaker at MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Texas, USA, and is an IARC-IFCPC certified trainer in colposcopy.
Dr. Sekhon initiated PIPAC – HITHOC for Interval Cytoreductive Surgery in ovarian cancer.
She received a commendation award on Republic Day of India by Commander-in-Chief Air Force For Professional Excellence.
Dr. Sekhon was awarded the title of Best Gynaecologic Oncologist Delhi 2012 by Times Research Media.
She is a member of various committees, including Member Ethics Committee ICPO (Institute of Cytology and Preventive Oncology), Member Oncology Committee AOGD, Member Scientific Committee – IGCS 2016, and more.
Dr. Sekhon is also a visiting fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA, and holds memberships in several medical societies, including FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India), ISOPARB (Indian Society Of Perinatology And Reproductive Biology), IAGES (Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons), and ISCCP (International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project).
